ANNOUNCEMENTS:

President's Message

.

FROM THE DESK OF ITA PRESIDENT - 2008

I would like to refresh our minds about: (a) What is a Mandir? (b) Why do we need a Mandir? (c) What is its usefulness to the Community/ Society? Mandir is the Hindu name for a place of worship. Mandir is a place where the mind becomes still and the soul floats freely to seek the source of life, peace, joy and comfort. Mandir is a common community place where people forget their differences and voluntarily unite to serve the community/society. Mandir fuels our faith in God, strengthen our society and teach us to trust one another and become trustworthy. Mandir educates the soul, mends a broken heart and creates peace of mind. Mandir is a center for learning about man, nature, and God. It is a sacred place where people celebrate festivals and seek shelter in sad times. The inside environment of a Mandir creates feelings of purity, devotional fervor, faith and pride in one’s culture. Mandir plays its essential roles in maintaining society’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being. A Mandir teaches an individual to distinguish right from wrong. It makes the character of the individual and teaches one to live life in such a way that one does not harm one’s own self or society. The need for a Mandir is as important as the need for a school or a hospital. A Mandir plays its role as a symbol of faith in God. It inspires people to pray to God and become better humans. ITA is God centered and faith centered organization. We are creating an environment that is Mandir centered and not centered towards an individual. Our Mandir is faith based democratic institution operating under a constitution. Our Trustee Board is the one responsible for making, conducting, concluding and recording the final decisions. The ITA Advisory Board does not make any decision but supports the ITA Trustee Board by giving valuable advices to the Trustee Board. We have made many improvements in Religious Puja Services and will keep on making further improvements to serve the community better. Our objectives are not and will not be focused on increasing the puja service revenue but to improve our performance. We are proud of our selfless service to our Mandir and to the community that is served by our Mandir. Trustee Board Members should discuss their thoughts among themselves and bring new ideas for action to improve the moral value of our Mandir. I urge you all to encourage community members to submit their suggestions in writing to the president who in turn will present it to the Trustee Board or to the concerned chairperson for discussion out side the Trustee Board meeting and for committee-recommended action. Please keep open the communication channel/line between the community and our Mandir along with its Trustee Board.
