Dashavatar represents the ten avatars or descents of the supreme being with a mention to presorve the world from the clutches of the forces of evil. Starting with first avatar Matsya (fish) in the center and spiraling outward with kurma (tortoise), varaha (boar) Narasimha (man-lion), Vaamana (dwarf), Parashurama (Rama with the axe) Rama (the Ideal human), Krishna (the divine statesman), buddha (the englishtered one) and kalki (the utimate liberator). These avatar’s are said to demonstrate that divenity re-establishes dharma or right eousness and destroys injuritice from time to time.
